He pursued history at the University of York, focusing his dissertation on the intriguing dynamics of female power within royal courts. His research delved into archival drama and conspiracies. Hay’s professional journey has spanned magazine publishing and the non-profit sector. Currently residing in London with his husband, Hay’s first novel, “The Housekeepers,” was received with acclaim, winning the Caledonia Novel Award.
